The following is an excerpt from the monthly newsletter from Barbara Listing, President of Right to Life of Michigan – As you will see this is a critical year!

Dear Prolife Friends,

The confetti has been swept up and the noisemakers have gone silent until another New Year’s celebration. It’s official, 2010 is underway. I hope you’re off to a great start!

In my first newsletter of 2010, I want to bring you some good news. I am witnessing, first-hand, a groundswell at the grassroots like I’ve never seen before . . . in over 35 years of prolife activism. Average, everyday citizens are standing to their feet anxious to help us take our state and nation back!

As we watch current events unfold in both Lansing and in Washington, D.C., it’s obvious that elections have consequences. Votes cast in November of 2008 have caused a deadly ripple effect felt to this very day. Innocent lives have been lost as a result.

In 2010, we will have an opportunity to speak our mind and to chart a brand new course.

In Michigan, the primary on August 3, with the general election to follow November 2, will be HISTORIC. It has been 75 YEARS since so many seats have been up for grabs simultaneously.

In a matter of just a few short months, we will cast our votes for . . .

Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Entire U.S. House (15), Entire State House (110), Entire State Senate (38), Two seats on the State Supreme Court.

Due to term limits, almost half of our state delegation (House and Senate) will be replaced this year. This gives you and me an unprecedented opportunity to save the lives of innocent children.

When it comes to unborn children, elections have consequences . . life and death consequences.

Please use care as you support, pray, and vote in the upcoming year!
